A man and a woman face drug charges after a traffic stop last Friday in Dartmouth.
On May 2, at 9:45 p.m., officers assigned to the West Quick Response Unit conducted a traffic stop in the parking lot of the Dartmouth Sportsplex on Wyse Road. The driver was arrested at the scene and a search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of a quantity of cocaine. A subsequent search of an apartment on Barkton Lane in Halifax yielded a quantity of cocaine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia. A woman was later arrested without incident at a separate location.
Fifty-one-year-old Earl Spencer Allan Power of Halifax was held in custody over the weekend and faces two counts of possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking, one count of possession of drugs and one count of trafficking. He will appear in Halifax Provincial Court later today. A 43-year-old Halifax woman was released from custody and faces one count of possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking and one count of possession of drugs. She will appear in Halifax Provincial Court at a later date.
