On February 26th at approximately 8:30 p.m., members of the Special Enforcement Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division with the assistance of members in the East Quick Response Unit and Halifax Regional Police Emergency Response Team, executed a search warrant at an apartment in the 200-block of Prince Arthur Avenue in Dartmouth. As a result of the search, police located a loaded handgun, quantities of cocaine and marihuana, drug paraphernalia and a sum of cash. Officers arrested two men during the search without incident.
A 29-year-old and 30-year-old man, both from Dartmouth, were remanded into custody for the weekend and are scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court on Monday February 29th to face weapons and breaching a court order charges under the Criminal Code, as well as charges of cultivation, and trafficking under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
