A man and woman face charges as a result of a drug search executed today in Halifax.
At approximately 5:30 a.m., members of the Drug Unit of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Unit, with the assistance of the Emergency Response Team and patrol members, executed a search warrant at an apartment in the 0-100 block of Evans Avenue. As a result of this search, quantities of cocaine, marihuana, a quantity of unknown substances and capsules thought to be controlled drugs, digital scales and several cellular phones were seized. Five people in the apartment were taken into police custody.
An 18-year-old woman from Timberlea and a 28-year-old man from Halifax were charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking in cocaine and possession of marihuana. Both parties are scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court today.
The other people were released without charges.
