Drug Searches Result in Charges

A man faces charges after two drug searches yesterday in Halifax.

At approximately 10 a.m., officers assigned to the HRP/RCMP Integrated Drug Unit, assisted by officers from the Central Quick Response Unit, conducted a search of a residence in the 6200 block of North Street. One man was arrested without incident at the scene and the subsequent search resulted in officers seizing marijuana, cash and drug paraphernalia. A subsequent search in a storage unit in Bayer’s Lake Industrial Park resulted in officers seizing a quantity of marijuana.

A 53-year-old Halifax man is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court on November 27 to face charges of drug possession for the purpose of trafficking.
