Drug Searches/Charges

Three men and one woman face charges as a result of five separate drug searches executed yesterday in Dartmouth and one in Enfield. 

At approximately 5 p.m., members of the Drug Unit of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Unit, East and Central Quick Response Unit conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on the 0-200 block of Woodlawn Road. A search of the vehicle was conducted and as a result of the search, quantities of powder cocaine, crack cocaine, cannabis resin, a cell phone and cash were seized. The male occupant of the vehicle was arrested without incident for possession for the purpose of trafficking in cocaine. 

Following the traffic stop, search warrants were executed at three separate residences, one in the 0-200 block of Albro Lake Road, the second in the 0-100 block of Woodland Avenue, and with the assistance of the Enfield RCMP, the third in the 0-100 block of Tracey Road in Enfield. Two further search warrants were executed at businesses, one in the 0-200 block of Woodlawn Road, and the second at the 0-600 block of Windmill Road. As a result of these searches, quantities of cocaine, marihuana, hash, a packaging and cocaine press, scales and a quantity of cash were seized. 

A forty-one-year-old woman from Enfield was charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking in marihuana. A 44-year-old man, also from Enfield, was charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking in marihuana. Both parties were released on court documents and are to appear in court at a later date. 

A fifty-four-year-old man from Dartmouth was charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking in cocaine. A 53-year-old man from Truro was charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking in cocaine, and with possession for the purpose of trafficking in hash. Both men are scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court today. 

The investigation continues into this matter.
