Drug/Weapons Charges

 A busy day by the HRP/RCMP Integrated Drug unit has resulted in four people facing drug and weapons charges from two different searches yesterday afternoon.

The first search was at a residence on Hages Lane in Prospect Bay. Forty-four-year-old Douglas Arthur Casey and 35-year-old Kelly Ann McKenzie were arrested at the scene and officers seized a shotgun, tazer, cocaine, and cash. They each face the following charges:

Section 86(1) CC - Careless Storage of a FirearmSection 86(2) CC - Unsafe Storage of a FirearmSection 88 CC - Possession of a Weapon Dangerous to the Public PeaceSection 91(2) CC - Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited WeaponSection 92 (1) CC - Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized Section 5(2) CDSA - Drug Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking

Casey also faces the following additional charge:

Section 117.01(1) CC - Possession of a Firearm Contrary to an Order

The second search was at an apartment in the 600 block of Larry Uteck Boulevard. Twenty-three-year-old Aaron Todd Wolfe and 20-year-old Benjamin Miles Wells were arrested at the scene and officers seized a shotgun, marijuana, cannabis resin, hydromorphone, ketamine and cash. Both men face the following charges:

Section 86(2) CC - Unsafe Storage of a FirearmSection 92 (1) CC - Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized Section 5(2) CDSA - Drug Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (4 counts)

Wolfe also face the following additional charge:

Section 117.01(1) CC - Possession of a Firearm Contrary to an Order (2 counts)

All four people are scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court today.
