The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents and motorists the Fairview Overpass (specifically the ramp from Joseph Howe Drive leading into the Windsor Street Exchange) will be closed for the next two consecutive weekends.
The ramp will be out of commission each weekend from 6 p.m. Friday (tonight), until Monday at 6 a.m. The closure is necessary so work crews can repair the bridge deck, curbing, and rails.
A signed detour will be in place and traffic safety personnel will be on site to direct motorists, pedestrians, and cyclists around the worksite.
Motorists should expect delays in the area and are asked to take alternative routes.
