First commissioned piece of artwork from the community unveiled

As part of our 20th anniversary as an amalgamated policing service, and within the context of our Strategic Plan, Halifax Regional Police (HRP) is actively soliciting artwork representing community groups with a public safety theme. The first piece of artwork was done by Enas Jawad from the Muslim community. This was a commissioned piece of artwork and Enas donated the money she received for it to the United Way to be used in the ISANS refugee cause. The unveiling was held with prominent members of the Muslim community and senior Halifax Regional Police as well as many family and friends of Ms. Jawad at a small reception held at HRP. Being a handmade work, the materials she works with are non-standard and the biggest challenge was to replicate the colors and the fine details in the logos on the bottom.  Take a look at the beautiful piece below.
