At 6:30 p.m., police responded to a report of an assault and theft at the Canadian Tire, 10 Radcliffe Drive in Halifax. A 22-year-old male employee reported that he was struck by a vehicle after confronting three people in the parking lot suspected of stealing a generator from the store. The driver of the vehicle accelerated from the parking lot striking the employee's arm. The victim was treated at the scene by EHS. A patrol officer located the vehicle moments later outbound on Highway 102 at Exit 3. Three suspects were arrested without incident and the generator was recovered. The 38-year-old male driver was charged with assault with a weapon, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, driving while disqualified and theft and possession of stolen property under $5000. Two passengers, a 51 year-old man and 44-year-old woman were charged with theft and possession of stolen property under $5000. The three accused were held for morning court. Police also identified a 36-year-old woman who is also arrestable for theft and possession of stolen property relating to this incident.
