At approximately 9 p.m., police were called to the Halifax Public Gardens. Security patrolling the gardens discovered a box which appeared to have been thrown over the fence into the park. The box contained several brass items removed several days earlier from the fountain monument. The items were returned anonymously but were accompanied by a short apology note.
