At approximately 12:15 p.m., officers responded to an assault complaint that occurred in an apartment building in the 5000 block of Gerrish Street in Halifax. Upon arrival, officers located a 41-year-old man who had been assaulted. The man was taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries. Shortly after locating the victim, officers arrested a 34-year-old man who had also been injured. He was taken to hospital for treatment and then released back into police custody. The subsequent investigation resulted in the 41-year-old man facing charges of assault and the 34-year-old man facing charges of assault causing bodily harm. Both men will appear in court at a later date.
