At 5:27 p.m., police responded to a report of a robbery at the CIBC, 18 Parkland Drive in Halifax. Shortly after the report was received, police received calls from members of the public who observed a man acting in a suspicious manner and fleeing from the area of the bank. With this information, officers located a man on a bicycle near Knightsridge and Dunbrack Street. At 5:40 p.m., officers arrested a 43-year-old Dartmouth man for robbery and recovered a knapsack containing an undisclosed amount of cash and an imitation firearm. No one was injured during this incident.

Update : The accused in this robbery will be charged with another robbery that occurred on April 27, 2012 at the CIBC branch at 1809 Barrington Street in Halifax. The accused is being held to appear in court tomorrow morning to face robbery and weapons related charges.
