At 10:28 p.m., police responded to an armed robbery that occurred at Olivet Grocery, 3083 Olivet Street in Halifax. The victim stated that two males with their faces partially concealed entered the store, brandished a sawed off firearm and demanded cash and cigarettes. The two suspects then fled the store on foot. Responding officers flooded the area and stopped a suspicious vehicle on Bayers Road. Two males fled the vehicle and a woman remained in the car. Officers engaged in a foot chase and arrested both male suspects. Officers recovered a sawed off shotgun, cigarettes and an undisclosed amount of cash during the course of the investigation. Two male youths from the Halifax area and a Dartmouth woman will be charged with robbery and numerous weapon related offences. They are being held to appear in court tomorrow morning.
