At approximately 8:25 p.m., police responded to a call of an altercation between two women at the corner of Victoria Road and Albro Lake Road in Dartmouth. One of the women involved in the altercation was in a wheelchair. During the altercation, the woman in the wheelchair was struck in the head with a metal pipe. The woman who struck her fled the area on foot. Officers arrived on scene quickly and a 31-year-old woman was taken into custody. The 52-year-old victim was taken to hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The accused will be attending Dartmouth Provincial Court tomorrow morning to face charges of assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon.
