At 8:52 p.m., police responded to a sexual assault and robbery in the area of the Dartmouth Common. A 17-year-old female youth was walking in the area of Alderney Drive and Wyse Road when she was attacked, sexually assaulted and was robbed of her purse. The victim described the suspect as a black man in his early 20's, about 5’5”, with a small tattoo under one eye, wearing a baseball cap, bandana and dark tank top. A K-9 team conducted a track into the Dartmouth Common that led to the victim’s purse and cell phone. The victim was taken to the Dartmouth General where she was examined and then released. The matter is still under investigation and is being handled by the integrated Major Crime Section.
