On October 24 at 2:56 p.m., Halifax Regional Police responded to the scene of a structure fire in the 3600 block of Acadia Street in Halifax. The fire was extinguished by Halifax Regional Fire and Emergency firefighters. Emergency personnel located a 92-year-old man in the residence, this individual has passed away. Police investigators are working with fire investigators to determine the cause of the fire. The cause of death in this matter remains undetermined pending the outcome of an autopsy. The name of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin.
