At approximately 1:30 a.m., officers observed a car backed into a building on Gloria McClusky Drive in Burnside Industrial Park. They pulled into the lot to check the vehicle and it sped away with no lights on. The vehicle was spotted again on Burnside Drive and officers followed it to Main Street. When they attempted to pull it over, the driver refused and drove away. The vehicle was pursued by Halifax Regional Police and RCMP officers to Porters Lake and then back towards Dartmouth on the old Number 7 Highway. Stop sticks were deployed and the vehicle was disabled. The suspect was taken into custody without incident. The driver of the vehicle, a 19-year-old Dartmouth man, will attend court later today to face numerous charges including theft, possession of a stolen vehicle, flight from police, possession of break-in tools and several breach charges.
