At 11:53 p.m., police responded to the 0-100 block of Main Avenue in Fairview for a report of a taxi driver who had been robbed at knife point. The taxi driver picked up a fare on Dutch Village Road and when they got to Main Avenue, the suspect produced a knife and took money from the taxi driver. He then fled on foot. Patrol officers set up containment and a K-9 Unit was deployed. The K-9 Unit tracked the suspect for about 30 minutes and he was eventually located and taken into custody. A 37-year-old Halifax man will attend court today to face robbery and weapons charges from this incident, as well as robbery and weapons charges from another robbery of a taxi driver that occurred earlier in the day (GO #13-16292).
