At approximately 8 p.m., police received reports of three separate incidents from people being sprayed with mace in Dartmouth. A 44-year-old man was walking in the 200 block of Windmill Road when he was approached by two unknown males who yelled a comment at him. One of them had a can of bear spray in his hand and started spraying the victim in the face. When the victim tried to chase the suspects, he was struck in the head with the canister by the suspect. Both suspects then fled on foot. A second male victim was also sprayed by mace by the same suspects further along Windmill Road. Finally, a third incident occurred which involved a nineteen-year-old man who was sprayed and stabbed while in the Wyse Road area. He suffered minor injuries and was treated in hospital and released. Based on detailed suspect descriptions that witnesses and the victims provided, Patrol Officers and a K-9 Unit flooded the area and two suspects were arrested in the vicinity of the incidents. A nineteen-year-old man and sixteen-year-old male youth have been charged with assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon and are being held for court on Monday.
