Police respond to four robberies in Central Division between 5 a.m. and 12 p.m. The first robbery occurred at 5:15 a.m. at the Quinpool Road McDonalds Restaurant. The second robbery occurred at 9:55 a.m. at the Quinpool Road Superstore. The third occurred at 11:50 a.m. at the Robie Street Irving service station and the final robbery occurred at 11:55 a.m. at the Robie Street Shell service station.During all incidents, the suspect either produced a knife or gestured that he was in possession of a weapon while demanding cash from the employees.

As a result of the evidence collected at the scenes, officers identified a suspect and shortly before 1 p.m., arrested a 27-year-old Halifax man without incident after he left a Brunswick Street residence. Police have executed a search warrant at the suspect's residence and detectives assigned to the HRP/RCMP Integrated General Investigative Section will be interviewing the suspect. He will remain in police custody and face a bail hearing on Sunday. The suspect will be charged with four counts of robbery, four counts of breaching a probation order and three counts of possession of a weapons dangerous to the public. Thankfully, no one was injured during any of the incidents.
