At 7:20 p.m., police responded to a weapons complaint at an apartment building located in the 200-300 block of Pleasant Street in Dartmouth. Two men became engaged in a physical confrontation that resulted in one of the men being stabbed with a knife. The victim, a 39-year-old Dartmouth man, received a serious but non-life threatening injury. Officer took a 50-year-old Dartmouth man into custody for this assault and the incident remains under investigation by members of the HRP/RCMP Integrated General Investigative Section. This incident is not considered to be a random act.
Both men have been charged in relation to this incident. The 50-year-old man faces charges of aggravated assault and the 39-year-old man faces eight counts of breach of recognizance and two counts of violating probation.
