The two men have each been charged with possession of a prohibited weapon, possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace, unsafe storage of a firearm and possession of weapon without a licence. They have been released from police custody and will be appearing in Halifax Provincial Court at a later date.

At 1:50 p.m., police responded to a two car motor vehicle collision in the area of Old Sambro Road and Northwest Arm Drive. No one was injured in the collision but two men who were in one of the vehicles fled the area into an adjacent wooded area. The two men, ages 21 and 19, were apprehended a short time later. A K-9 unit conducted a search of the wooded area and a firearm was located. At this time no charges have been laid and the matter is still under investigation.
