Shortly after 3 a.m., a vehicle was observed by police travelling at a high rate of speed on Highway 111 near  Mic Mac Mall in Dartmouth heading towards Halifax.  Police lost sight of the  vehicle but a short time later observed that it was involved in a single vehicle crash.  It appears that the vehicle attempted to take Exit 2G from Highway 111 going towards Bedford.  The vehicle lost control and flipped, landing in the next off-ramp going from Victoria Road onto Highway 111.  The driver  fled the vehicle and climbed approximately 60 feet in the air on a Nova Scotia Power electrical tower.  Police negotiated with the man for approximately two hours before he eventually came down.  The man was taken into custody and will be facing numerous charges relating to this incident.  A section of Highway 111 and  Victoria Road was shut down as a result of this incident.
