As a result of the investigation, it appears that the suspect purposely drove at and struck the victim with her vehicle. Therefore the suspect is being charged with attempted murder and assault with a weapon. She is still in custody and will be appearing in Dartmouth court on  May 31, 2013. The  victim remains in the hospital with serious injuries.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------At approximately 6:20 p.m.,  police  responded to a dispute call on Brompton Road in Dartmouth. A female resident of the area called police due to another resident almost hitting her with her vehicle. When the officers arrived on-scene, the victim approached and they stopped their vehicle in the area of Everette Street and Bonnie Brae Trailer Park. As they were speaking with the victim, a van appeared on Everette Street from Brompton Road and  sped up and swerved towards the police vehicle. The van struck the police vehicle and subsequently struck the victim who had been beside the  vehicle. The officers exited their vehicle and took the driver of the van, a 32-year-old woman, into custody. The 46-year-old female victim was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
