At 10:15 p.m., officers responded to 117 Albro Lake Road in Dartmouth to a report of disturbance in a common area within the apartment complex. A tenant contacted police indicating they could hear some type of commotion. Patrol officers arrived on scene within minutes and discovered the body of a 33-year-old female in the stairwell. EHS had attended and confirmed that the female was deceased.
The death is being treated as suspicious and as a result members of the Integrated Major Crime Unit and Forensic Identification offices are investigating. A Medical Examiner Investigator attended the scene earlier this morning and an autopsy is expected to be completed later this afternoon to determine the cause of death. Officers are attempting to confirm the identification of the female and will then complete next of kin notifications. This incident is in the early stages of investigation and further information will be released as it becomes available.
