At 8:25 a.m. on February 2, members of HRP responded to a report of a significant trail of blood located on a walking path at the Long Lake Provincial Park in Halifax. The responding officers followed the trail for several kilometres assisted by an HRP K9 unit. The source of the blood could not be located. A Forensic Identification Officer attended the scene and tested the blood and determined it to be of animal origin.
