On April 14 at approximately 4 p.m., a 26-year-old woman was jogging on Joseph Howe Drive near the Bicentennial Highway ramp. When the light changed to green, she stepped into the crosswalk, at which time a vehicle that was turning on to the ramp struck her hip and ran over her foot. The driver of the vehicle stopped and had a short conversation with the woman and then left the area. That evening the pedestrian went to the hospital to be checked out for precautionary reasons and she reported the matter to police on April 15.
The vehicle is described as a black 4-door sedan and the driver as a middle-aged man with gray hair believed to be of Middle Eastern descent. The matter remains under investigation. Police are asking anyone that who has information related to this matter contacts 490-5016.
