GO# 14-55948 Assault with a weapon

On April 23 at 8:05 p.m. Halifax Regional Police responded to a call of numerous people fighting on the street in the area of Trinity Avenue and Nadia Drive in Dartmouth. Further information indicated that one person may have been assaulted with a baseball bat. 

When officers arrived they located a 35-year-old man who had been assaulted. He was transported to the Dartmouth General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. A 34-year-old man was arrested and a baseball bat was also seized. 

The suspect is currently in police custody and will attend Dartmouth Provincial Court this morning to face charges of possession of a weapon and assault with a weapon. Based on the investigation, police believe this was not a random incident as the victim and suspect are known to each other.
