At approximately 1:40 a.m., Halifax Regional Police responded to a report of a robbery that had just taken place at the Needs Convenience store located in the 6100 block of Chebucto Road in Halifax. A male suspect had entered the store and demanded money from the clerk, although the suspect motioned that he had a weapon, none was seen. The suspect fled the store with a quantity of cash, a track was attempted by a Halifax Regional Police K-9 unit, however, it proved negative. Suspect is described as a white male, 5’5”, blonde hair in a ponytail, wearing a red jacket and jeans. The investigation will be followed up by members of the Integrated General Investigation Section. Officers are looking to speak with anyone who may have any knowledge of this incident and ask that they contact Halifax Regional Police at 902-490-5020.
