GO# 15-177495 and GO# 15-177510 – Two men facing robbery charges

Shortly before 11 p.m. on December 15, an 18-year-old man called police to report that he was walking in the area of the 6200 block of Coburg Road when he was approached by two males riding bicycles and wearing masks. The two parties on bikes produced knives and demanded his personal property. The victim complied and the men left the area on their bikes. 

Within the hour, police received a similar call from a man walking in the area of the 7000 block of Mumford Road. The 32-year-old caller reported that he was approached by two men on bikes who threatened him with a knife and demanded his property. He also complied and handed over personal property to the two men who fled on the bikes. 

Shortly after midnight, responding officers noted a male on a bike in the area of Bayers Road and Romans Avenue and approached him to investigate. The officers subsequently arrested a 21-year-old man and 22- year-old man in relation to the two robberies. The two men are scheduled to appear in Halifax court on Wednesday to answer to the following charges: 

Charges relating to the Mumford Road robbery for each man

  • Robbery with violence
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Carrying a concealed weapon
  • Disguise with Intent
