The 30-year-old Halifax man is being charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon and assault with a weapon. He is being held in custody to appear in court on Monday.

At approximately 8 p.m. on December 18, Halifax Regional Police responded to the 0-100 block of Forest Hill Drive in Halifax for a weapons complaint. Upon arrival, officers learned that as a result of a dispute, a 30-year-old man produced a sword and a 37-year-old man produced a knife and approached the man with the sword. An altercation occurred and the man with the knife received a laceration to his wrist. Responding officers located one of the two men, the man who had produced the sword, at the scene. The other man was located at the hospital, where he was treated and released. A 30-year-old Halifax man was taken into custody and the investigation is continuing.
