At 4:22 a.m. on December 19, an officer observed a vehicle go through the stop sign at the intersection of Thistle and Maple Streets and strike the curb. The officer activated his lights and siren but the driver didn't stop and continued along Thistle Street. When the driver attempted to turn the corner at the bottom of Thistle Street, the vehicle veered off the street and struck the front porch of a residence and two parked cars. No one was injured during this incident. The 20-year-old male driver from Dartmouth was arrested at the scene and will be appearing in court at a later date to face impaired driving charges, as well as dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, flight from police and mischief/property damage charges.
