Officers are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspicious man who was going door to door in the area of Topsail Boulevard and Dorothea Drive in Dartmouth over the past two weeks asking residents about alarm systems.

On February 4 at 4 p.m., a man approached a residence on Topsail Boulevard and asked the 17-year-old resident if she wanted to go for a drive. The man had been in the neighborhood over the past few weeks trying to sell alarms. When the girl told him no, he tried to grab her arm and pull her out of the doorway, but she closed the door on him and called the police.

He is described as a white man, 20-30 years old, 5’9 – 5’11 in height, with light brown hair. He was wearing a black hoodie, blue jeans and sneakers.

Anyone with information about the man’s identity is asked to contact police at 902-490-5016. Anonymous tips can be sent to Crime Stoppers by calling toll-free 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), submitting a secure web tip at www.crimestoppers.ns.ca or texting a tip - Tip 202 + your message to 274637.
