GO# 16-69910 - Suspicious Circumstances

 Halifax Police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a man after he asked a child to go into the woods with him near the Clayton Park Drive/Lacewood Drive area.

On May 14 at approximately 7 p.m., an 11-year-old girl was in the area of the basketball court near Lacewood Drive and Clayton Park Drive when a man approached her and asked her to come into the woods with him. The young girl ran to her mother who was nearby and they called the police.

The man is described as a medium dark complexion male with a slight accent, 5’7” tall, small build and in his early 20's. He is reported to have short black hair and clean shaven. He was wearing a red t-shirt and light blue jeans that had darker blue knees. The man was also walking a dog at the time of the incident described as standing knee high and having brown curly fur. The dog was wearing a purple collar and possibly named Lucy.

Investigators are asking anyone who has any information on this incident to contact police by calling 902-490-5020.
