On June 24 at approximately 7 p.m., officers were called to the intersection of Hollis and Bishop Streets in Halifax after a pedestrian called police to report that they saw a man putting a firearm into his waistband. Officers quickly located a man matching the description nearby inside a restaurant and arrested the man without incident. Initially, officers believe the recovered item to be a replica gun, however, it needs to be sent for further testing. Officers arrested a 27-year-old Halifax man and charged him with possession of a weapon and carrying a concealed weapon. He was released on a Promise to Appear and Undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
