GO#14-144581 Police investigate robbery of taxi driver

At 2:10 a.m. on Saturday, October 4 officers responded to an armed robbery in Dartmouth. A taxi cab driver had picked up a fare, consisting of two men, in the Bedford area and transported them to a building in the 0-100 block of Lakecrest Dr. in Dartmouth. Upon arrival at that location, the men robbed the cab driver with what he believed was a firearm, although the weapon was not seen. The two suspects were given an undisclosed amount of cash, and then fled into a nearby apartment building. Multiple patrol units and K9 attended the scene but were unable to locate the suspects. The 37-year-old male victim was not injured during this incident. This matter remains under investigation at this time.

The suspects are described as two black men, approximately 20 years of age, one with a skinny build while the other was heavier set. They were both wearing dark clothing and dark hats at the time of the offence. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact police at (902) 490-5020.
