At 6:15 p.m. on Saturday, April 19, officers responded to 15 Dawn Street to a report of a man discharging a rifle from his apartment window. At 6:30 p.m. officers identified the apartment in question and had a conversation with the occupant. He was taken into custody without incident. A search of the apartment discovered a replica AR-15 pellet rifle and a pellet handgun which were seized. Officers learned that the occupant was shooting at items on his balcony, and no one was injured during this incident. Police have charged a 21-year-old man with careless use of a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, discharging a firearm recklessly and mischief. The accused was released on a promise to appear in court at a later date and an undertaking.
