At approximately 1:20 a.m. on Monday, September 7, a woman reported to Halifax Regional Police that at approximately 12:15 a.m. a male suspect had attempted to steal her duffel bag while she was walking in the area of Duffus and Barrington Streets in Halifax. The victim explained that she noticed the suspect walking very closely behind her. He then grabbed onto the strap of the bag that was over her shoulder and tried to pull it off. The victim was able to run from the area without anything being stolen from her. The suspect is described as a white man, approximately 20-years-old, 6'1", 170 lbs and wearing glasses. Officers are looking to speak with anyone who may have any knowledge of this incident and ask that they contact Halifax Regional Police at 902-490-5016.
