At about 10:15 a.m. on Saturday, October 31, Halifax Regional Police responded to the 100 block of Herring Cove Road after receiving a report of a man being caught breaking into vehicles. The male suspect was stopped and confronted by a construction worker at which time the suspect produced a knife and then fled on foot. A K9 Unit initiated a track and located several items that police believe were taken from vehicles. The suspect, who couldn't be located, is described as a rugged looking white man in his twenties with a darker complexion, rotten teeth, acne and neck tattoos who was wearing black sweatpants and a black hoody that had red on it at the time of the incident. The investigation into this matter is continuing.
