UPDATE as of 1:50 a.m. on Sunday, April 19: The 57-year-old man who was taken into custody in relation to this incident has been charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace. He was remanded to the Central Nova Scotia Correctional Facility and is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court on Monday, April 20 to answer to the charges.

Police are investigating a weapons incident which occurred at approximately 3 a.m. on Saturday, April 18 at a residence on Seascape Lane in Halifax. Information indicates there were multiple people in a residence when an altercation broke out and an adult male assaulted another adule male with a knife. EHS transported the victim, aged 46, to the QEII hospital for treatment of what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect, aged 57, fled the area but was later arrested and is in police custody pending further investigation. Officers in the General Investigation Section of the Criminal Investigation Division are continuing the investigation into the stabbing. This is not a random incident as the people involved are known to one another.
