On July 21 at 2:20 p.m., officers responded to a report of bricks falling from a building on Rhuland Street in Halifax. The responding members discovered a large panel of the brick siding had separated and fallen from the 7th floor of an apartment building in the 5600 block of the street, landing on the sidewalk below. The responding members cordoned off the street, sidewalk and building exit near where the bricks had fallen, ensuring nobody entered or exited the area. Rhuland Street was temporarily closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic between Lucknow and South Park Street. HRM Building Standards assessed the situation and HRM Fire also attended. Nobody was injured as a result of the falling bricks.
