Halifax Regional Police is closely monitoring the movement of ongoing protests involving a large number of vehicles travelling through Nova Scotia this weekend, which are expected to have an impact on some parts of the Halifax Regional Municipality today and tomorrow. Our officers will be present as necessary to direct traffic, minimize disruptions and promote public safety. We expect there will be impact to traffic on a number of roadways and streets. As we have more information, we will continue to provide updates through our social media channels.

We remind all attendees and members of the public to follow applicable rules and requirements related to COVID-19 emergency measures, the Motor Vehicle Act and other laws. Our approach always starts with engagement; however, we will enforce as necessary including under the provisions of the emergency order. Vehicles and people must make room for emergency vehicles to pass through. We advise everyone planning to participate in these events to follow the rules and take responsibility for your actions. We ask members of the public to expect and be prepared for traffic delays that these events may cause.
