Halifax Regional Police is asking children in HRM for their help in naming our new mascot. Based on Police Service Dog Vinny of our K-9 Unit, the larger-than-life German Shepherd mascot will be appearing at parades, festivals and community events throughout HRM.
All students in grades primary through six, currently living in HRM, are invited to submit their suggestions for the mascot’s name by sending an email to ContactHRP@halifax.ca with the following information:
suggestion for the mascot’s name reason for choosing that name name and age school and grade telephone number or email address The contest closes on June 9. The winning name will be selected by a panel of Halifax Regional Police employees. The winner will receive a prize pack, go on a special tour of police headquarters and have lunch with the Chief of Police.
