As part of a linguistic and learning opportunity, HRP is hosting Québec City Police Deputy Chief Sophie Bégin from October 15-24.

D/Chief Bégin has been Deputy Chief of the Institutional Affairs Division of the Québec City Police Department since 2007. She is responsible for the management of the Police Affairs Section and the General Services Section. Recognized for her outstanding team management skills for over 18 years, D/Chief Bégin has developed a management style based on interpersonal relations, which has enabled her to mobilize and motivate employees while encouraging their individual development.

D/Chief Bégin holds an MBA from l’Université du Québec à Montréal as well as l’Université de Paris Dauphine. Among her successes over the last few years, D/Chief Bégin has developed and implemented a new organizational project: Human Capital Management. This project has allowed Québec City Police to transition from managing resources to managing humans and their potential, in order to face and overcome challenges facing police organizations.

We extend a warm welcome to D/Chief Bégin as she spends time with Halifax Regional Police over the next two weeks.
