HRP/RCMP Integrated Drug Unit Executes Search Warrant

At 9 p.m. on December 5, members of the HRP/RCMP Integrated Drug Unit executed a search warrant in the 5000 block of Rhuland Street in Halifax. Officers located a quantity of cocaine and marihuana, cash and drug paraphernalia.Three handguns were also discovered inside the residence. A 23-year-old Halifax man was arrested without incident and is being held in police custody. He is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court on December 6 to face the following charges: 

Drug Charges:  5(2) CDSA (Controlled Drugs and Substance Act) possession for the purposes of trafficking cocaine, 5(2) CDSA possession for the purposes of trafficking cannabis marihuana. 

Weapons Charges: 86(2) CC (Criminal Code) Unsafe Storage x 3, 88(1) CC Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose x3, 91(1) CC Unauthorized possession of firearm x 3, s. 92(1) CC Unauthorized possession knowing possession unauthorized x 3, s. 95(1) CC possession of restricted firearm loaded or with accessible ammunition x 3.
