Last night’s fatal shooting ruled a homicide and victim identified

The fatal shooting that occurred last evening in Halifax has been ruled a homicide and the victim has been identified as 22-year-old Tyler Ronald Joseph Keizer of Halifax. 

On November 21 at 10:47 p.m., Halifax Regional Police responded to a report of gunshots in the area of Falkland and Gottingen Streets in Halifax. When members arrived, they located a man in a vehicle who had been shot. The victim was transported to the QEII Health Sciences Centre with life-threatening injuries, but later died. 

The autopsy was conducted today and the Medical Examiner has ruled Tyler’s death a homicide. Our thoughts are with Tyler’s family and loved ones.

The investigation, led by the Homicide Unit of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division, is ongoing. A suspect was seen running from the area and may have gotten into a vehicle. Investigators are asking anyone with information about this incident, the suspect or any vehicles seen fleeing the area to call police at 902-490-5020.
