Man Arrested for Domestic Assault

A man whom police were looking for in connection with a domestic assault that occurred last week has been arrested.

On June 6, at 12:20 p.m., police responded to an assault in progress at an apartment building on Flamingo Drive in Halifax involving a male suspect who had fled the area prior to police arrival. The victims, a woman and child, were transported to the IWK hospital for treatment of non life-threatening injuries. Through the course of the investigation, officers seized a handgun outside the building that was not used during the assault.

This afternoon, a 27-year-old man turned himself in to police at Headquarters. He is currently in custody and is expected to appear in Halifax Provincial Court tomorrow to face the following charges:
