Man arrested following bank robbery

Officers have arrested a man in connection with a robbery that occurred earlier today in Halifax. 

At 3 p.m., officers responded to the Bank of Montreal located at 360 Lacewood Drive after a man entered the bank, indicated that he had a weapon and demanded money. The man fled the area on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. No one was injured during the incident and although the suspect stated that he was armed, no weapon was seen.

At 3:02 p.m., officers located the 50-year-old suspect at the intersection of Regency Park Drive and Lacewood Drive. He was subsequently arrested without incident and the stolen cash and a pellet gun were recovered on him. The investigation is ongoing and no charges have been laid at this time.
