Investigators in the Special Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division have charged a man with perjury.

On February 4, a man attended the Supreme Court under subpoena to testify as a witness in the trail of Kale Leonard Gabriel for the 2010 homicide of Ryan White. When the witness was called to take the stand, he initially refused and was placed in the court house cells. He later changed his mind and took the stand. Investigators noted that the witness was not truthful about his knowledge of the homicide during his testimony.

Shortly after 8 a.m. this morning, 22-year-old Marcus Terrence Verrault was arrested at a residence in the 2500 block of Brunswick Street. He is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court today to face a charge of perjury.
