A man faces multiple weapon charges after an incident this morning in Halifax. At approximately 10:30 a.m., officers responded to a weapon-related call near Woodill Street and Maynard Street in Halifax. The caller stated that there were several people attempting to disarm a man who was carrying a rifle on the street. Upon arrival at the scene, patrol officers determined that the group had left the street and entered a residence in the 2400 block of Maynard Street. The officers spoke with the people involved and located the rifle used in the incident.
As a result of the investigation, a 57-year-old Halifax man has been arrested and charged with multiple firearm-related offences. The accused has been held and will appear in Halifax Provincial Court tomorrow morning.
No one was injured during this incident.
